HARRISONBURG, Va. – Another trio of goal scorers helped the Northeastern field hockey team to a key CAA victory and the teams third-straight win with a 3-1 dousing at James Madison on Friday night.
Alli Meehan,
Kasidy Anderson and
Melanie Weber netted the goals for the Huskies while
Julia Gluyas was key in goal with seven saves on 12 shots and 10 penalty corners faced on the night.
The Huskies got on the board first when Meehan tabbed her eighth goal of the season with some help from Weber in the fourth minute of action. Weber corralled the kick out after a save on the Huskies' initial penalty corner shot, sent it back in and Meehan redirected it into the goal.
Anderson and Weber made it a 3-1 game quickly in the third quarter first when Anderson sent in a point blank shot through the goalkeepers legs followed a minute-and-a-half later by a shot slammed home from Weber off of a no-look pass by
Camille O'Conor.
The Huskies look to bring this momentum into their final road regular season game of the year at William & Mary on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m.
