Wise leads Huskies at CCSU Mini Meet

NEW BRITAIN, Conn.— The Northeastern men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Central Connecticut State Mini Meet this afternoon, with the women's team placing fifth, as Louiza Wise led the way with a 10th place finish in the women's 3k.

Nicholas Young was the top finisher out of the men that competed in the 5k event for Northeastern, finishing in 54th place with a time of 15:58.5. Anders Narita (16:24.7), Pierre Sylvain (17:40.9) and Astor Meredith-Goujon (17:57.1) filled out the rest of the pack for the Huskies.

Louiza Wise's 10th place finish (10:18.9) paced the women's team to a fifth place finish out of 16 teams. Madison Neuner was the other Husky to place in the top-20, finishing in 18th place with a time of 10:30.9. Grace Bugara (10:45.0), Juliet Bussell (10:45.5), Lucinda Shotts (11:03.7), Kelsey Walak (80, 11:19.4) and Sarah Peterson (11:22.0) were the other Huskies to help the women's team finish one spot higher than their showing in 2017.
