Natalie Shollin and
Nailah Jenkins combining for more than half of the team's 49 kills on Monday, the Northeastern women's volleyball team made easy work of William & Mary at Cabot Center, earning the straight-set victory (25-22, 25-19, 25-15).
Â
Shollin smashed 15 kills on 21 attacks to notch a new three-set career high while Jenkins delivered 11 kills on 17 attacks, mimicking Shollin with a season-high performance.

Samantha Shupe racked up 40 assists, nine digs and two aces, helping guide the Huskies to the +22 advantage in total kills and the 7-3 edge in total aces.
Â
Starting slow, Northeastern (12-11, 6-5 CAA) found its attacking rhythm midway through the opening set, staging a 12-3 scoring run to overcome its six-point deficit and lead, 19-16. Despite committing more attack errors (eight) than the Tribe (six), the Huskies cashed in their third set point to win the opener, 25-22.
Â
Back-to-back kills by Shollin and Shupe during the second set sent Northeastern on an 8-3 scoring run that put NU in front, 13-9. Although William & Mary (6-15, 2-8 CAA) managed to draw even at 14-14, Shollin sandwiched two kills around an ace by
Athena Ardila to break the tie and send the Huskies on their winning course to claim the two-set advantage.
Â
Erica Staunton connected on the go-ahead kill for Northeastern that left behind the third set's 6-6 tie and prompted a string of five straight points that were won by the Huskies. NU completed the third set with 20 kills against three attack errors, limiting the Tribe to seven kills as the Huskies secured the match.
