BOSTON – The Northeastern women's hockey team opens the 2019-20 campaign on the road this weekend, traveling to Schenectady, N.Y. to take on the Union Dutchwomen this Friday, Oct. 4 at 6 p.m.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW

1. Time to Unionize: Heading into this Friday's game, Union holds an 0-2-0 record after opening the season with back-to-back losses against Robert Morris. The Dutchwomen trail in the all-time series with the Huskies,1-6-0. This weekend's game marks the first meeting between the teams since 2014, when Union picked up a 1-0 victory at Matthews Arena. Union is led by head coach Josh Sciba, who enters his fourth year with the program.
2. Top Dawgs: After finishing the 2018-19 campaign at the top of the conference standings, the Huskies earned the No. 1 spot in Hockey East preseason voting, receiving 81 points including nine first-place votes.
3. We are the Champions: The Huskies claimed their second-consecutive Hockey East title last season, besting Boston College, 3-2, in an overtime thriller. Goalie Aerin Frankel stopped 30 shots between the pipes on her way to being named the HEAW MVP for the second-consecutive year. With the win, Frankel moved to an 8-0-0 all-time record in the HEAW Tournament.
