BOSTON - The Northeastern men's basketball team (2-0) will hit the road for a non-conference tilt at UMass (2-0) this Tuesday night. Game time is set for 7 p.m. and the game will be televised on NESN+.
KEEP ROLAND!
Senior Jordan Roland has gotten off to the best start in school history. He scored a career-best 39 points in the opener at BU, and followed that up with a school record 42 points in a win over Harvard last Friday night inside Matthews Arena. Not only is he scoring a bunch of points, he is doing it at a high percentage, shooting 65 percent from the floor and 50 percent from behind the arc. Roland earned Lou Henson Award National Player of the Week and CAA Player of the Week accolades after scoring an NCAA-best 81 points in his first two games.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Freshman point guard
Tyson Walker was named CAA Rookie of the Week after reaching double figures in his first two games for the Huskies. He posted 11 points and two assists in a win over BU, and scored a season-best 15 against Harvard and did not commit a turnover in the five-point win over the Crimson.
RECEIVING A VOTE
After a 2-0 start, the Huskies are receiving a vote in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll. The last time Northeastern was ranked was during the 1986-87 season where the Huskies checked in at No. 19.
A WIN ON TUESDAY NIGHT WOULD ...
Give the Huskies their first 3-0 start since the 2015-16 season where NU began the season 4-0.
