Jordan Roland Named Lou Henson Award National Player of the Week

BOSTON - Senior Jordan Roland was named Lou Henson Award National Player of the Week, announced by CollegeInsider.com on Monday. Roland scored an NCAA-best 81 points in his first two games and set a new single-game scoring record with 42 points in a win over Harvard last Friday night.

In the season opener, Roland made 15 of 24 shots and finished with a game-high and career-high 39 points. He followed that performance up with a record-setting one last Friday, pouring in 42 points on 13-of-19 shooting and led the Huskies to an 84-79 win over Harvard.

A native of Syracuse, N.Y., Roland leads the country with 40.5 points per game and is shooting 65 percent from the floor, 50 percent from behind the arc, and 89 percent from the free-throw line. Roland and the Huskies will take on UMass this Tuesday night, 7 p.m., on NESN+.
