BOSTON – With
Stella Clark providing 17 points on offense and
Alexis Hill racking up a career high, five steals, on defense, the Northeastern women's basketball team posted its third straight victory on Saturday, motoring by Hartford, 60-47, at Cabot Center.
Clark was one of eight NU players who tracked down at least four rebounds as Northeastern (3-6) sported the +11 advantage on the glass. The Huskies set season highs in total rebounds (45), offensive boards (24) and turnovers created (29), achieving the +13 edge in points off turnovers, too.
Shannon Todd finished with 11 points while Hill rounded out her stat line with eight points, five rebounds and the team high, seven assists.
Ayanna Dublin added six points and five rebounds from the NU starting lineup.
Northeastern began the game with an 11-3 scoring run and proceeded to outscore the Hawks during each of the contest's first three quarters. The Huskies carried the 31-19 lead into the half and extended it to as many as 26 points, 55-29, with 7:13 remaining in the fourth quarter.
Hartford (0-11) staged an 18-2 scoring run during the fourth quarter, reducing Northeastern's lead to as low 10 points during the final minute.
Jordan McLemore, Jada Lucas and Kaela Dothard co-led the Hawks with 10 points apiece.
