BANGOR, Maine – With sophomore forward
Alexis Hill setting career highs in points (25) and steals (six) on Saturday, the Northeastern women's basketball team extended its winning streak to four consecutive games as the Huskies took down Maine, 66-58, at the Cross Insurance Center.

Northeastern (4-6) endured 15 lead changes to defeat the Black Bears, pulling ahead for the final time courtesy of
Kendall Currence's off-balance jumper with 1:33 remaining in the third quarter. The Huskies' defense successfully kept Maine (4-9) off the scoreboard through the opening four minutes of both the third and fourth quarters as NU combined to outscore the home side, 37-25, during the second half.

Stella Clark and
Ayanna Dublin followed Hill's scoring lead by logging 13- and 12-point outings. Clark registered seven rebounds, three assists and four steals while Dublin racked up eight rebounds along with four steals.

Northeastern shot 47 percent from the field and commanded the interior throughout the game, sporting the 44-24 advantage in points in the paint. The Huskies also capitalized on Maine's 24 turnovers to achieve the 21-13 edge in points off takeaways.

Hill offloaded 10 of her game high, 25 points, during the second quarter, helping NU claw back from its 21-15 deficit to briefly grab the lead. However, Maine responded with the 12-4 scoring run that ended the half and put the Huskies behind, 33-29.

Dublin's and-one conversion near the start of the third quarter was one of three such plays NU witnessed before compiling its 13-3 run that provided the Huskies with their last lead.

Maddy McVicar led Maine with 16 points off the bench, hitting four 3-point jumpers. Maeve Carroll paired 11 points with nine rebounds and two blocks while Anne Simon charted 14 points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals.
