Huskies close out competition at indoor season openers

BOSTON— The Northeastern track & field team opened the 2019-20 indoor season with four first-place finishes while competing at two different meets on Saturday. The Huskies competed at both the Crimson Opener hosted by Harvard and Boston University's Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener.
 
At the Crimson Opener the men's team placed second overall and the women finished in fourth. Erica Belvit continued her dominance in the hammer throw, taking first (19.49m), while Leeyan Redwood finished in second in the shot put with a PR of 15.31m.
 
Donatien Djero, David Adams and Mange Camara led the way for the men at the Crimson Opener with each finishing in first-place in their respective events. Djero won the 60m (6.80), Adams was victorious in the 60mH (8.21) and Camara won the 300m (33.91).
 
At the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener, Louiza Wise led the way for the women, finishing the 5000m with a time of 17:13.26, just off her personal best. Alexander Korczynski debuted in the 5000m, finishing in eighth-place with a time of 14:20.25.

The Huskies will close out the 2019 year with the Joe Donahue Games, a home meet at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center on Saturday, Dec. 14.
