BOSTON– The Northeastern men's basketball team will kick off a three-game homestand with a key game on Saturday afternoon when the Huskies face off against Hofstra at 4:30 p.m. at Matthews Arena.

The preseason No. 1 (Northeastern) will take on the CAA's current No. 1 seed (Hofstra) on NESNPlus.

Here is what you need to know about Saturday's game:

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:

  1. Dogs vs. Cats

  • Hofstra enters Saturday's game with the Huskies on the nation's longest winning streak, 16 games
  • The Pride have yet to lose since a 69-67 OT victory at Virginia Commonwealth back on Nov. 24
  • Hofstra's three losses this season have all come on the road where they have posted a 7-3 record
  • Currently the Pride lead the CAA with a 9-0 record, with the Huskies sitting in a tie for second place

LEADING THE WAY
  • Hofstra senior guard Justin Wright-Foreman continues his stellar senior season and the team with a 26.0 ppg average, which ranks third in the nation, while also dishing out 72 assists
  • Coupling with Wright-Foreman to provide one of the top scoring duos in the country is Eli Pemberton who is putting up 15.8 ppg this year
  • Desure Buie is averaging 9.6 ppg in 2018-19 while dishing out a team-high 115 assists this season

ALL-TIME SERIES
  • This will be the 45th meeting between the two teams in a series that is tied at 22-all
  • Hofstra won five-straight before the Huskies pulled away with a 81-67 victory last season at the Mack Complex
  • Prior to that, Northeastern won eight-straight against the Pride from 2011-12 until the 2014-15 season
  • Hofstra took the first meeting between the two teams earlier this season on a buzzer beater that Justin Wright-Foreman threw up with a prayer as time expired

  1. Seeing Double-Double

  • For the third time since the 2002-03 season, five different Huskies have each recorded a double-double in the same season
  • Vasa Pusica became the fifth Husky with a double-double this season following his 10-point, 10-rebound double-double at James Madison
  • This year, like 2016-17, a pair of Huskies achieved the feat in the same game, two different times
  • In 2002-03, two double-double efforts in a single game occured on three different occasions
  • Donnell Gresham's three double-doubles this season are the most since T.J. Williams put together four in 2016-17

  1. They See Me Roland….

  • Last Saturday against James Madison, Jordan Roland went off, finishing with a career-high eight 3-pointers against the Dukes
  • That game marked the FIFTH time this season he has connected on a 5+ threes in a game and the THIRD time he has knocked down 6+ treys
  • With the outing, Roland becomes just one of three Northeastern players to have three 6+ trey games in a single season joining J.J. Barea and Marcus Barnes, who both did so during the 2003-04 season
  • Barnes became the first to ever do it, completing the task by Jan. 2, 2004 (12 games into the season), Roland did so by Jan. 26 (21 games in)
  • Roland is the lone Husky to do it all on the road
