WILMINGTON, N.C. – Trailing by 11 points at halftime, the Northeastern men's basketball team put in a gritty performance at both ends of the floor to rally past UNCW, 81-77, on Thursday evening at Trask Coliseum.
Jordan Roland scored 13 of his team-high 19 points in the second half, and Donnell Gresham poured in 12 of his 17 points after halftime to power the Huskies (16-9, 10-3 CAA) to their ninth win in the last 10 games.
Bolden Brace added 16 points and six rebounds, and
Anthony Green turned in a double-double with 12 points and 11 boards, while holding UNCW's top scorer, Devontae Cacok, to just six points.
In a back-and-forth game that featured nine lead changes, Northeastern stormed out to a 25-16 first-half lead, only to see UNCW (8-19, 4-10 CAA) use a 24-3 run to claim a 44-33 halftime advantage.
The Huskies battled back to claim a 61-60 lead midway through the second half, and went in front for good, 67-66, on a Roland layup with 6:25 to play.

Myles Franklin (8 points) and Green stretched the NU cushion to six with just over two minutes to play, before Gresham salted the contest away at the foul line, converting seven of his eight free throw attempts in the second half.
Northeastern held a 32-30 edge in rebounds and shot 50 percent from the field (29-for-58), while hitting 11 3-pointers on the night.
Jeantal Cylla paced the Seahawks with 19 points, and Kai Toews added 17 points and 10 assists in a losing effort.
Northeastern will look to extend its five-game winning streak on Saturday at Charleston (4 p.m.) in a battle for postseason positioning. At 10-3 in league play, the Huskies currently sit in second place in the CAA standings, while Charleston is third at 9-5.
