Huskies find success at Brown Invitational

Results

BOSTON – The Northeastern men's and women's track and field team continued its successful indoor seasons over the weekend at the Brown Invitational, with the Huskies combining for 13 top-five finishes.
 
Michelle Nkoudou topped her preliminary time in the 60-meter hurdles (9.08) to clock in at 8.97 in the finals to finish first overall ahead of UMass Lowell's Jessica Amedee (9.01), while teammate Hannah Meredith was fourth (9.40). Nkoudou, Meredith, Jaliyah White and Robine Arami teamed up in the 4x400-meter relay to finish with a time of 4:23.94. White and Meredith would go on to compete in the triple jump, finishing third (11.12-meters) and fourth (10.90-meters).
 
The Huskies advanced three runners to the finals of the 60-meter dash, with Nkoudou (8.19), White (8.19) and Amanda Reilly (8.20) finishing fifth, sixth and seventh overall in the final, respectively. 
 
Later in the day, Arami was neck and neck down the stretch with Providence's Olivia Dickinson in the 400-meter dash, ultimately getting edged to take fourth overall with a time of 1:02.72.
 
In the field, Northeastern took four of the top six spots in the pole vault, led by Leah Saifi's 3.90-meter mark to finish first while Melissa Purcell (3.40-meters), Eliana Sirkin (3.19-meters) and Bridgette Muller (3.19-meters) placed second, tied for fourth and tied for fourth, respectively.
 
On the men's side, Providence's Angus White ran away from the field in the mile, but it was Zachary Jarnagin leading the pack of seven other runners throughout the race, ultimately finishing second overall with a time of 4:25.68. In the field, Phillips Magre took fifth in the high jump (1.92-meters).
 
Northeastern will be back in action next weekend for the BU Last Chance Meet.
