BOSTON
– The Northeastern men's basketball team kept rolling Thursday night when the Huskies took down William & Mary 72-60 at Matthews Arena for their seventh win in their last eight games.

Led by five double-digit performances, including a game-high 19 points from Vasa Pusica, Northeastern put together a total team effort, including a 17-of-20 performance from the free throw line, in the win to improve to 14-9 overall and 8-3 in conference play.

The Tribe (9-15, 5-7) finished with a better field goal percentage thank the Huskies (49.0 to 42.6) and outrebounded NU 31-29 on the night, but Northeastern hit five more treys than the Tribe on a 9-of-18 night from deep. In the last seven wins, the Huskies have combined for 62 3-pointers.

In addition to his 19 points, Pusica added seven rebounds and seven assists while making a game-high three steals. Jordan Roland and Donnell Gresham each chipped in 12 points on the night, Roland going 3-of-6 from deep, while Gresham added six rebounds.

Bolden Brace and Tomas Murphy each finished with 10 points, and Murphy was a perfect 4-of-4, including 2-of-2 from behind the arc, while Green added nine points.

Despite missing some time early for what appeared to be an ankle injury, Nathan Knight bounced back and finished with a team-high 18 points and 14 rebounds for the Tribe while Chase Audige finished with 14 points and Justin Pierce was held to 11 points in the game.

FIRST HALF
The Huskies got out to a fast start thanks to a couple of layups from Pusica and then a couple of slams from Green. Those baskets helped spur an 11-0 run over a three-minute span, while also holding the Tribe scoreless during that time, and more, to make it a 17-5 game.

After ultimately getting out to a 15-point, 26-11 lead following a Roland trey, William & Mary started in on a run of its own outscoring the Huskies 13-2 over a six minute period, with a Brace spinning jumper in the paint the lone basket during that stretch.

Murphy ended the drought with two-and-a-half minutes to go on a layup which jumpstarted a 13-0 run to end the half as the Huskies headed to the locker room with a 17-point advantage, 41-24.

SECOND HALF
A 6-0 Tribe run through the middle of the second half prompted Bill Coen to call his first timeout of the game. And a Tribe basket out of that timeout brought William & Mary two points closer, but Murphy ended the 8-0 run with his second trey of the day to bolster the Husky lead to 12.

But the Tribe would not back down going basket-for-basket with the Huskies for the remainder of the game, though Northeastern used its free throw shooting prowess to seal the victory, its sixth double-digit win in its last seven victories.
