BOSTON – The Sunday, March 17, baseball doubleheader between Northeastern and Holy Cross has been moved to Friedman Diamond in Brookline, as announced by the Northeastern athletic department on Thursday. First pitch will remain at 11 a.m.
Â
Previously, Sunday's games had been scheduled to take place at the Crusaders' home ballpark, Hanover Insurance Park at Fitton Field, in Worcester.
Â
As a result of the change in venue, Northeastern (6-9) will now open its 2019 home calendar with consecutive 11 a.m. doubleheaders against Holy Cross, beginning on Saturday, March 16. Separated by an hour of travel time, the Huskies and the Crusaders will be renewing their series history for the first time since the 2008 season.
Â
Both Northeastern and Holy Cross have made NCAA tournament appearances during the last two seasons. The Crusaders won the 2017 Patriot League championship and went 1-2 at the 2017 Corvallis Regional while the Huskies earned the at-large bid to the 2018 Raleigh Regional.
