BOSTON -- Northeastern University baseball had a strong presence across the region's top summer collegiate leagues this year, with Huskies competing in the Cape Cod Baseball League, the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL), and the Futures Collegiate Baseball League (FCBL). Several Northeastern players were part of championship-winning rosters this summer: Ryan Gerety, Andrew Basel, and Charlie Criscola each appeared on the the Harwich Mariners roster this season as the Mariners captured the 2026 Cape League title, while Matt Mahoney and Drew Sliwkoski were part of the Sanford Mainers' 2026 NECBL championship run. Several others turned in standout individual seasons across the three leagues.
Cape Cod Baseball League
Ryan Gerety - Harwich Mariners - OF
Gerety started his summer playing in Harwich, scoring 10 runs and going a perfect 8-for-9 on stolen base attempts over 17 games. He signed an undrafted free agent contract with the San Diego Padres following the summer and has since made his professional debut with the Fort Wayne TinCaps.
Andrew Basel - Harwich Mariners - RHP - Junior
A steady bullpen presence for the champion Mariners, Basel struck out 20 batters over 21.1 innings (8.4 K/9) across 10 appearances and picked up a save.
Will Fosberg - Hyannis Harbour Hawks - C - Redshirt Junior
Fosberg appeared in 16 games for Hyannis, posting a .346 on-base percentage with 3 doubles and a home run, and drove in 6 runs. He also handled 111 putouts and 9 assists in the field.
Henry DiGiorgio - Wareham Gatemen - INF - Junior
DiGiorgio started 29 games at shortstop for Wareham, collecting 22 hits and driving in 11 runs over 104 plate appearances while stealing 4 bases.
Tyler Harmony - Orleans Firebirds - INF - Sophomore
Harmony posted a .400 on-base percentage over 16 games for Orleans, driving in 6 runs and going a perfect 4-for-4 on the bases.
Charlie Criscola - Harwich Mariners - INF - Sophomore
Criscola saw limited action for the champion Mariners, collecting a hit in two games.
Robbie O'Connor - Hyannis Harbour Hawks - RHP - Redshirt Senior
O'Connor made his collegiate summer ball debut this year, pitching in two games for Hyannis in his first taste of Cape League competition.
AJ Aschettino - Wareham Gatemen - INF - Redshirt Sophomore
Aschettino hit .250 with a .478 on-base percentage over 8 games for Wareham, adding 4 hits, 2 RBI, and 2 stolen bases.
Cooper Tarantino - Wareham Gatemen - C/1B - Junior
Tarantino saw brief action for Wareham, collecting a double and 2 RBI with a run scored and a walk over 3 games.
Tom Mahoney - North Shore Navigators / Hyannis Harbour Hawks - RHP - Sophomore
Mahoney split time between two teams, going 2-1 for North Shore with 23 strikeouts over 18.2 innings (11.1 K/9), and also saw late-summer action with Hyannis.

David Pengel - Norwich Sea Unicorns - OF - Sophomore
Pengel put together a strong summer at the plate, hitting .290 with a .345 on-base percentage over 34 games. He collected 31 hits and 12 RBI while stealing 12 bases in 15 attempts.
Brayden Lewis - Worcester Bravehearts - OF - Sophomore Transfer (Wheaton)
Lewis hit .357 with an .872 OPS over 11 games, collecting 15 hits, including 2 doubles and a home run, and drove in 9 runs while going a perfect 6-for-6 on the bases.
Quincy Kerr - Lowell Spinners - INF - Freshman
A freshman making his collegiate debut, Kerr appeared in 40 games for Lowell, posting a .341 OBP and driving in 14 runs with 5 doubles, a triple, and a home run.
Malcolm Klingler - Nashua Silver Knights - RHP - Freshman
Also a freshman, Klingler made 10 appearances (9 starts) on the mound for Nashua, striking out 41 batters over 40.1 innings for a 9.1 K/9 rate.
Brett Gallo - Lowell Spinners - C - Freshman
Gallo, a freshman, appeared in 26 games for Lowell in his first summer of collegiate ball, hitting .240 with 2 doubles.
