BROOKLINE, Mass. –
Jeff Costello's walk-off single during the bottom of the ninth inning of Sunday's game two helped the Northeastern baseball team achieve a split of its doubleheader against Holy Cross at Friedman Diamond as the Huskies bounced back from their 8-4, seven-inning defeat to win the nine-inning finale, 8-7.
Â
After swinging just four hits during game one, Northeastern (9-10) elevated its offensive intensity during game two, stealing a season high, eight bases, while bringing runs home during five of its nine innings at the plate.
Â
Holy Cross (2-18) posted four crooked numbers against the Huskies during the day, outhitting NU during both games.
