Huskies record 19 personal bests in weekend competition

BOSTON -- 
The Northeastern men and women's track and field teams were back in action this weekend, taking on a pair of meets in Alabama and Massachusetts and coming away with a combined 19 new personal bests. 
 
Six men and six women traveled to Auburn, Alabama for the Tiger Track Classic, where a new Northeastern record was set.
 
Spencer McKeough was the lone top-10 finisher for the men, earning second in the shot put with a distance of 15.99m.
 
Erica Belvit set a new program outdoor record in the hammer throw at 60.64m, placing second in the event. The previous record, Theresa Findlay's 60.04m on 6/1/96, stood for nearly 23 years before Belvit's performance on Friday.
 
Leeyan Redwood also impressed in the throwing category, finishing second in the shot put at 14.67m.
 
A large pack of Huskies stayed within state lines on Saturday, with 30 men and 19 women competing in the UMass Minuteman Invitational in Amherst, Mass.
 
The men dominated the 1500m, with four names littering the top 10 in the event. Alexander Korczynski took home gold (3:53.54), with Eric Clay taking bronze (3:54.76). Christian Stafford (3:58.23) and Luke Novak (4:00.01) placed sixth and eighth, respectively.
 
Connor Donovan finished fifth in the 400m with an outdoor personal best (49.98). Jordan Samuels impressed in multiple events, placing third in the 110m hurdles (15.03), first in the long jump (6.84m), and sixth in the triple jump (13.96m). Mayowa Osunsami excelled in the hurdle events as well, earning eighth in the 110m hurdles (16.11) and fifth in the 400m hurdles (57.08).
 
Ugonna Anuonyemere championed the high jump (1.87m), with Joseph DiMartino finishing seventh (1.77m). Cole Stewart earned himself a pair of top-five finishes, placing third in the shot put (14.41m) and fourth in the hammer throw (43.91m).
 
Priscilla Senoo showed out for the women, earning gold in the discus throw (40.83m) and silver in the shot put (13.87m). Zoe Taitel followed closely behind, ending up sixth in the discus throw (38.10m) and fourth in the shot put (13.30m).
 
Michelle Nkoudou ran a second-place time of 15.12 in the 100m hurdles, while Paige Suse earned third in the high jump (1.71m). Jaliyah White recorded a personal best triple jump (11.19m) to place fifth, with Zhane Goode finishing two spots behind her in seventh (10.74m).
 
Eliana Sirkin and Bridgette Muller both catapulted themselves 3.25m in the pole vault, earning sixth and eighth place, respectively.
 
Looking ahead, the Howlin' Huskies will attend a trio of meets next weekend. They will represent Northeastern at the SCSU Multi in New Haven, Conn. on Thursday and Friday, the Ocean State Invitational in Providence, R.I. on Friday, and the Northeast Challenge in Storrs, Conn. on Saturday.
