Big first half leads women’s soccer past Harvard

BROOKLINE, Mass.— The Northeastern women's soccer team used a three-goal scoring spree in the first half to take down Harvard, 4-1, in Friday night action at Parsons Field.
 
Northeastern (2-1-0) poured in three goals in the first half, to Harvard's (0-1-0) one, and added a fourth in the final half to seal the win. Kayla McCauley opened the scoring with her first career goal in the 8th minute, off an assist from Chelsea Domond.
 
Angela Caloia was the lone Crimson to find the back of the net in the 15th minute of action, to tie things up at 1-1. Domond turned on the jets to beat two Harvard players to score her second goal of the season for the Huskies in the 32nd minute.
 
Nina Dooley tacked on her first career goal off a Halle McCabe assist in the 38th minute. Kerri Zerfoss headed in the final goal of the game in the 55th minute off another McCabe assist.
 
McCabe now has three assists on the season to lead the Huskies. While Domond leads the team in points (5) and goals (2).

Angeline Friel earned her first career start and win against Harvard, playing a full 90 minutes and nabbing three saves on the night.
