Huskies raise money for Swim Across America

BOSTON— The Northeastern swimming and diving team was set to compete in the Swim Across America- Rhode Island Open Water Swim this Saturday, Sept. 7, but the event was canceled due to unsafe ocean conditions from Hurricane Dorian.

The Huskies have been raising money for the past several weeks for Swim Across America to help fight cancer.

Swim Across America is an organization that raises money through hosting benefit swims to fund cancer research and clinical trials. The Rhode Island Open Water Swim benefits cancer research, prevention and treatment at Women & Infants Hospital in Providence, R.I.

To date, the Huskies have raised over $10,500 to benefit Swim Across America. Three Huskies have individually raised over $1,000 including Victoria Austin, Megan Clark and Lena Spear.
