BOSTON – With junior point guard
Stella Clark offloading the game high, 22 points, the Northeastern women's basketball team roared back during the second half on Sunday to defeat William & Mary, 61-55, remaining in a three-way tie for first place atop the CAA standings.

Clark played the duration of the contest, shooting eight-for-16 from the field while registering three rebounds, two assists and a steal. The Huskies' pacemaker also accounted for two of the team's five triples, including her 3-pointer from the right corner that put NU in front for good with 1:53 remaining in the fourth quarter.

Alexis Hill recorded her fourth consecutive double-double, finishing with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Freshman guard
Century McCartney set rookie season highs in points (seven) and rebounds (10), providing the Huskies with 26 minutes off the bench.

After the visitors had rushed out to the 14-5 lead, Northeastern (8-8, 4-1 CAA) blitzed the Tribe for seven unanswered points during the final minute of the first quarter, bringing the score back within one possession. William & Mary (12-5, 3-3 CAA) continued its hot shooting into the second quarter, building the 26-16 lead before NU had managed to reduce its trailing margin to 27-20 by halftime.

Northeastern turned the tables on the Tribe during the third quarter, where the Huskies hit seven of their 11 field goal attempts (64 percent).

Katie May drained consecutive 3-pointers to give NU its first lead at 36-35 with 2:56 to go while the Huskies used their momentum to extend the lead to 43-36 by the quarter break.

Despite William & Mary leveling the score at 50-50 with 2:19 remaining in regulation, Clark single-handedly scored Northeastern's next seven points, helping NU secure its fifth straight home victory.

Eva Hodgson paced the Tribe with 19 points and five assists. Sydney Wagner added 13 points off the bench while Victoria Reynolds logged four points, 13 rebounds and four assists.
