BOSTON - Jordan Roland scored a game-high 26 points and
Bolden Brace added 17 points as the Northeastern Huskies (11-9, 5-3 CAA) raced past Drexel (12-9, 5-3 CAA), 85-52, on Thursday night inside Matthews Arena. The 33-point win was the second-most for the Huskies in the all-time series, winning by 34 at home (79-45) on Jan. 9, 2008.
Brace made 7-of-8 shots in the game and went 3-for-4 from behind the arc. Roland finished 10-for-20 in the game, 4-of-8 from 3-point range and has scored at least 20 points in four consecutive games. He added a game-best seven rebounds, matching his career high set in the last game.
The Huskies left no doubt as to who was going to win the game as they went on a 24-2 run over nine minutes after Drexel opened with a 3-pointer to lead 24-5. Roland scored 15 of those 24 points to start and the Huskies shot 50 percent (7-for-14) from long range and led by 22 at the half, 49-17. Northeastern shot 61 percent (14-for-23) in the second half and led by as many as 36 points in the game.
NU improves to 8-0 this season when shooting 50 percent or higher, finishing at 55 percent (32-for-58) tonight. The Huskies held a 35-12 advantage in the paint and outrebounded the Dragons, 34-28. NU limited Drexel to just 32 percent (16-for-49) shooting in the game.
