BOSTON -
Tyson Walker scored 20 points and dished out a game-high six assists, while Jason Strong finished with 16 points and five rebounds to lead Northeastern (1-1) to a 78-75 victory over Massachusetts (1-1) on Sunday afternoon inside the Cabot Center. The Huskies shot 62 percent (13-for-21) in the second half and built a 14-point lead.

Also in double figures for the Huskies was Greg Eboigbodin and Shaquille Walters with 10 and 12 points, respectively, and Jahmyl Telfort with 11. Walters led the Huskies on the glass with nine rebounds, and Eboigbodin had a highlight blocked shot in the second half.

The Huskies used a 16-5 run over a six-minute span early in the second half to take control of the game. The win snaps a six-game losing streak to UMass and gives Northeastern the split in the home-and-home series. NU has now won five straight games inside the Cabot Center and are 13-2 in home openers during the Bill Coen era.

With the win, Coach Coen advances to 242 career wins at Northeastern, just eight shy of matching the all-time record held by Jim Calhoun from 1972-86.

After scoring a game-high 31 points against the Huskies on Friday, UMass' Tre Mitchell finished with just 10 points on 3-of-10 shooting. Javohn Garcia led the Minutemen with 18 points, while Noah Fernandes added 15 and Ronnie DeGray III finished with 12.
