The Huskies and UMass will return to Boston for a non-conference match-up on Sunday at Noon that will be regionally televised on NESN inside the Cabot Center.
COEN CHASING HISTORY
Head Coach Bill Coen enters his 15th season for the Huskies and is just nine wins shy of matching the all-time wins record of 250, set by Jim Calhoun from 1972-86. Coen has led Northeastern to a CAA-best 146 league wins and ranks second all-time in CAA history with 163 regular season and postseason wins.
WALKER EARNS CAA PRESEASON RECOGNITION
Sophomore point guard Tyson Walker was named to the CAA Preseason All-CAA second team, voted on by the league coaches and media. Walker, a native of Westbury, N.Y., became the sixth freshman in school history to surpass 100 assists last season and was named to the CAA All-Rookie Team after finishing third in the league with 1.8 steals per game and second among all freshman with 10.4 points per game.
SEASON OPENERS ON THE ROAD
Under Coach Coen, the Huskies have won six straight road openers and are 9-5 overall in season-opening road games. Northeastern is coming off its third consecutive appearance in the CAA Championship game and earned its ninth NCAA tournament bid after winning the 2019 CAA tournament title.
HOME GAMES INSIDE CABOT CENTER ON SOLOMON COURT
Northeastern will not have fans at home events through the end of 2020, and will revisit that position in early 2021. With no fans in attendance, the Huskies will play their home games inside the Cabot Center for the first time since the 2004-05 season. Northeastern is a perfect 4-0 during the Coen era inside Cabot, and have won 11 of its last 12 games on Solomon Court.
