BOSTON— For just the second time in the 42-year history of the Women's Beanpot, the No. 2 Northeastern women's hockey team and the No. 8 Boston University Terriers will meet in the championship game this Tuesday, Feb. 11 at 8 p.m. in Walter Brown Arena. The game is set to be broadcast live on NESNplus and TSN2 in Canada, and will also be available to be streamed via CBS All Access.
 
THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
 
1. Beanpot vs. BU: The Huskies and Terriers have met three times already this season, with Northeastern owning a 3-0-0 record against BU. The Huskies most recently defeated BU, 2-1, on Jan. 28. Northeastern and BU will meet for just the second time in the Beanpot final this Tuesday, the Huskies defeated BU, 4-3 in overtime in 2012 in the two teams only finals meeting. Sammy Davis leads the Terriers with 33 points, with Jesse Compher and Abby Cook in second with 25 points each.
 
2. Month of the Howlin' Huskies: For the month of January, Aerin Frankel was named the Hockey East Goaltender of the Month and Alina Mueller was named the Hockey East Player of the Month. Additionally, Mueller was named the Women's Hockey Commissioners Association Player of the Month. The duo helped lead the Huskies to an NCAA-best eight wins in January. Frankel's seven wins and four shutouts led all Division I goaltenders during January. Mueller led all players in the country during January with 15 points and two shorthanded goals.
 
3. Fast Start: Northeastern has scored 45 goals in the first period this season, 15 more than any other Hockey East team. The Huskies' 45 goals rank second in the NCAA for most goals scored in the first period.
 
UP NEXT
The Huskies will close out the series against Providence with a home-and-home series beginning on Friday, Feb. 14 at 7 p.m. in Matthews Arena in the annual Skating Strides game.
