BOSTON— The No. 3 Northeastern women's hockey team will close out the series against the Providence Friars in a home-and-home series beginning with the annual Skating Strides game in Matthews Arena on Friday, Feb. 14 at 7 p.m. The Huskies will close out the series against the Friars on Saturday, Feb. 15 at 3 p.m. in Rhode Island.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
  1. Scouting The Friars: Providence is currently riding a three-game winless streak. Earlier this season, the Friars defeated the Huskies, 1-0, in a battle in Rhode Island. Sara Hjalmarsson leads the Friars with 25 points off, 16 goals and nine assists. In goal, Sandra Abstreiter and Clare Minnerath have split time, each appearing in 16 games.

  2. Queens Of The Beans: Off the stick of Lauren MacInnis, the Huskies snapped a seven-year Beanpot championship drought, taking down the Boston University Terriers, 4-3 in double overtime (per NCAA rules, the game officially counts as a 3-3 tie). The Huskies captured a record 17th Beanpot championship with the victory. Chloe Aurard earned MVP honors after posting five points through two games and Aerin Frankel was honored with the Bertagna Award, given to the best goaltender of the tournament.

  3. Two For Ten: Alina Mueller and Chloe Aurard both rank in the top-10 in the country for point scorers. Mueller sits at second nationally with 54 points and Aurard ranks ninth with 42 points. Northeastern is one of only two schools to have multiple players in the top-10 for points.
