WAKEFIELD, Mass. - Northeastern's
Tyler Madden and
Ryan Shea were named Hockey East All-Stars, announced by the league office on Wednesday. Madden was named to the first team, while Shea garnered second team accolades.
Madden finished second in Hockey East with 19 goals and seventh with three game-winning goals. He is a nominee for the Hobey Baker Award and was a semifinalist for the Walter Brown Award, ending the year on a 10-game point streak. Madden tallied a goal and an assist in the Beanpot to lead the Huskies to their record-setting third straight title, and recorded his first-ever hat trick and had a four-point night in a 5-2 win over Maine on Nov. 22, 2019.
Shea led the Huskies with 26 assists, finishing fifth in Hockey East. The Milton, Mass., native scored a game-clinching goal in the Beanpot win over Harvard, 3-1, and garnered MVP honors in the Friendship Four tournament in Belfast, Ireland with two goals and three assists. The captain is part of the second winningest class in Northeastern history, helping the team win three consecutive Beanpot Championships for the first time in program history. Shea joined Madden as a semifinalist for the Walter Brown Award.
