WAKEFIELD, Mass.— After leading all Hockey East players with four points and helping the No. 4 Northeastern women's hockey team to a quarterfinal sweep of Vermont, junior defenseman
Skylar Fontaine was tabbed Co-Player of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday.

Fontaine posted a three-point performance in the decisive game two victory over Vermont, and was involved in all three Husky goals. In the first game of the series, Fontaine posted an assist.

Fontaine's four-point weekend tied to lead all defensemen in the country. The junior leads all Hockey East defenseman in goals (14), assists (24) and points (38). Additionally, the blue-liner is third in the country for points among defenseman.

The East Greenwich, Rhode Island native earned the honor alongside UConn's Viki Harkness. This award marks Fontaine's first weekly honor from the league this season.

Fontaine and the Huskies are back in action for the Hockey East semifinals against Maine on Saturday, March 7 at 12 p.m. at Merrimack's Lawler Rink.
