WASHINGTON, D.C. - Maxime Boursiquot led four Northeastern players in double figures with 16 points, while
Bolden Brace finished with 15 points and a team-best eight rebounds to lead the sixth-seeded Huskies (16-15) over No. 3 seed Towson (19-13), 72-62, on Sunday night in the Hercules Tires CAA Men's Basketball Championship quarterfinals at the Entertainment and Sports Arena. The Huskies led for nearly 38 minutes and advance to the semifinals for the third consecutive year.
Tyson Walker returned to the lineup after missing the final two regular season games and scored 13 points, adding four assists.
Shaquille Walters reached double figures for the fourth straight game with 14 points, going 5-for-5 from the free-throw line.
Northeastern led by as many as 16 points in the second half, but the Tigers got within four points, 60-56, with 3:29 remaining in the game. The Huskies responded with two free throws by Walker, a layup by Brace and four consecutive free throws to close out the game by
Jordan Roland and Walters.
The Huskies will take on No. 7 seed Elon in the semifinals on Monday night at 8:30 p.m. The game will be nationally-televised on CBS Sports Network.
