NU's Carter and Hobson Invited to Canadian Developmental Virtual Camp

BOSTON - Northeastern's Megan Carter and Brooke Hobson have been invited to virtual camps with Canada's National Women's Program. The virtual meetings are used to discuss topics that can help student-athletes improve their well-being while at home by utilizing the strengths and experiences of the program's leadership. With weekly sessions up until the athletes return to campus in the fall, they will cover topics such as at-home strength and conditioning plans, mental performance plans and check-ins, nutrition, dry-land skills, skating simulations, team-building activities, short-term international competition preparation and one-on-one meetings with leaders and athlete-to-athlete interactions. 

Carter is entering is a rising sophomore with the Huskies after tallying two goals and 11 assists through 38 games last season. As a defenseman, she earned a spot on the Hockey East All-Rookie Team last season and recorded two assists in a 9-1 rout over UConn in the Hockey East Championship game on March 8. The Milton, Ontario native posted her first career goal in a 6-0 win over Boston College on Jan. 10.

Hobson is entering her senior year with the Huskies after skating in 30 games and tallying six goals with nine assists last season. She led all blue-liners with four power-play goals this past year and earned Hockey East All-Star third team honors. A native of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Hobson is a two-time Hockey East All-Star and tallied a career-best two goals in a win over Merrimack on Feb. 7.
