FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Prioritizing the safety of tournament participants, staff and fans, Triple Crown Sports announced on Thursday its decision to move the site of the 2020 Cancun Challenge – featuring the Northeastern women's basketball team – from the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya in Mexico to Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne, Florida.
 
As scheduled for Thanksgiving week this November, all men's and women's tournament games at the 2020 Cancun Challenge will now take place at the Titan Field House on the campus of Eastern Florida State College, located about 20 miles south of Cape Canaveral.
 
Official tournament fields, divisions and schedules – as well as new hotel and fan package information – will be revealed by Triple Crown Sports at a later date.
 
Northeastern is scheduled to make its second all-time appearance at the Cancun Challenge, having debuted at the tournament in 2016.
 
The women's field at the 2020 Cancun Challenge will feature Florida State, Houston, Iowa, Purdue, Southern California, Tennessee, Toledo, VCU and one more adversary that has yet to be named. The men's field will contain Clemson, Illinois State, Mississippi State, Purdue and four more competitors.
