BOSTON - Northeastern men's soccer head coach
Chris Gbandi announced changes to his coaching staff on Wednesday. Joining his staff will be new goalkeeper coach
Jesse Goleman, while
John Montanaro is Club Director with Black Knights FC in Boston and
Charlton Muhlauri is the new Club Director at FC Athletico in North Carolina.
"I want to take this opportunity to thank both Coach Montanaro and Coach Muhlauri for their time while working with our program. Both Coach Montanaro and Coach Muhlauri were a huge asset to our staff and student athletes," said Gbandi. "Our student-athletes gravitated to both coaches because of their infectious personalities and unique understanding of the game. We wish Coach Montanaro all the best as he starts an outdoor soccer club Black Knights FC in the Boston area and Coach Muhlauri for being named director of coaching at FC Athletico in North Carolina. They have both been a large part of our program and will be sorely missed.
"I would like to welcome
Jesse Goleman to our Northeastern men's soccer coaching staff. Coach Goleman is a young and passionate coach with a wealth of knowledge coaching goalkeepers. Coach Goleman brings to Northeastern the experience of working with and training professional goalkeepers during their off seasons. I believe Coach Goleman will create a fun and competitive experience for our talented goalkeepers and I have no doubt they will enjoy working with him."
Goleman spent four seasons as the Goalkeeper Coach at Centenary University in New Jersey and was part of the 2016 Coaching Staff of the Year after helping Centenary win the conference championship and advance to the NCAA tournament. He has worked with 20 all-conference selections and one conference player of the year during his time working with Centenary, Chatham University, Seton Hill University and Carlow University.
