No. 4 Northeastern Takes on No. 7 Providence in Home Game

  BOSTON - The No. 4 Northeastern women's hockey team (4-1-1, 4-1-1 HEA) takes on No. 7 Providence (7-1-1, 7-1-1 HEA) in a conference home game. Puck drop Tuesday will be at 7:00 p.m. in Matthews Arena on NESN+ with streaming available via College Sports Live. 

GOAL SCORING HUSKIES

The Huskies have played six games this season and sophomore Katy Knoll already has three goals and two assists to lead the team. Skylar Fontaine and Megan Carter each have tallied three assists for the season. Brooke Hobson notched the team's first power play goal of the season taking No. 4 Northeastern to (4-1-1, 4-1-1 HEA) a split weekend with a win and a tie against New Hampshire. 

THE GOALTENDER 

Senior Aerin Frankel topped two charts last week by earning her spot as the all-time school record holder in career shutouts (21) and most all-time wins (62). Frankel surpassed previous standout Erika Silva and her 20 shutout wins and 61 career wins during her 88 games played for the Huskies. In four games this season, Frankel has a Hockey East best 0.75 GAA and a .969 Save pct. A native of Briarcliff Manor, N.Y., Frankel holds back-to-back Hockey East Goaltender of the Year awards and was a top-10 finalist for the Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award.

SCOUTING PROVIDENCE

The Friars are coming off of a single win against Holy Cross. Sara Hjalmarsson leads the team in scoring with four goals and eight assists while Sandra Abstreiter defends the net with a 1.32 GAA and a .951 save pct. as they head into their 10th and 11th games. The Huskies split a weekend home-and-home series with the Friars during their last meeting.
