BOSTON -
Jahmyl Telfort scored a season-best 20 points, Tyson Walker tallied 18 points and six assists, and Coleman Stucke scored a season-high 15 points to lead Northeastern (2-5, 1-0 CAA) past Elon (3-2, 0-1 CAA), 75-52, on Saturday inside the Cabot Center on Solomon Court. The Huskies have won nine straight Colonial Athletic Association openers and improve their home court winning streak to six.

Telfort buried a 3-pointer at the end of the first half that spurred a 15-2 run through the first four minutes of the second half to give the Huskies their first double-digit lead of the game, 41-28 (15:39). Elon responded with a 10-2 run to climb back within five, 43-38 (12:16), but the Huskies countered with an 11-1 run and led for most of the second half by double digits.

Northeastern shot 52 percent (26-for-50) in the game, including 64 percent (16-for-25) in the second half, while limiting the Phoenix to 33 percent (17-for-51) from the floor. The Huskies made 15-of-23 shots from the free-throw line and shot 42 percent (8-for-19) from behind the arc.

Hunter McIntosh was the only Elon player to reach double figures, finishing with 16 points. Northeastern has won eight of the last nine meetings between the two schools.

The Huskies and Phoenix will face each other again on Sunday inside the Cabot Center. The game will be televised on NESN at Noon.
