BOSTON - The No. 4 Northeastern women's hockey team (9-1-1, 9-1-1 HEA) takes on Merrimack (1-9-0, 1-9-0 HEA) in a conference home-and-home series. Puck drop Friday will be at 3:30 p.m. in Matthews Arena on NESN and Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at Lawler Rink on College Sports Live.
GOAL SCORING HUSKIES
The Huskies have played 11 games this season with junior
Alina Mueller leading the team with 15 points (six goals, nine assists).
Chloe Aurard has tallied five goals for the Huskies while
Skylar Fontaine has notched six helpers this season. No. 4 Northeastern enters this series after coming off a shutout win against UConn, 2-0.
THE GOALTENDER
Senior
Aerin Frankel topped two charts this season by earning her spot as the all-time school record holder in career shutouts (24) and most all-time wins (66). Frankel already holds school records in save percentage (.943), and goals against average (1.54). To record her fifth shutout of the season, Frankel made 14 saves against UConn on Tuesday evening inside Matthews Arena. A native of Briarcliff Manor, N.Y.,
Frankel holds back-to-back Hockey East Goaltender of the Year awards and was a top-10 finalist for the Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award.
SCOUTING MERRIMACK
The Warriors come into this series after being swept by New Hampshire in a home-and-home (0-3), (0-4). Megan Fergusson and Katie Kaufman both lead the team in points with four (two goals, two assists) while Dominika Lásková
adds two goals and one assist to the books. Defending the net for the Warriors, Emma Gorski holds a 3.35 GAA and a .909 save pct. as they head into their 11th and 12th games. The Huskies hold a 12-1-2 record against the Warriors and are playing on a three-game winning streak.
