Evelyn Gonzalez tallied 14 kills and junior outside hitter
Erica Staunton notched 11 kills, but Northeastern volleyball (7-8, 3-2 CAA) fell to UNCW (2-12, 1-2 CAA) on Saturday at Hanover Hall.
The Seahawks battled to take a close first and second set to lead the match 2-0. The Huskies took the third set to force a fourth, but UNCW ended up sealing the win.
- Gonzalez has tallied double-digit kills in eight matches so far this season.
- Along with her 14 kills, Gonzalez had seven digs and three assists.
- Junior middle blocker Nailah Jenkins notched six kills and three service aces.
- Junior libero Kayla Martin recorded 21 digs.
- Junior setter Liz Carroll notched 20 assists and freshman setter Jessica Frannea had a career-high 14 assists.
- Amanda Guasti-Nugent had a season-high 16 digs and four service aces.
- The Huskies had six blocks.
- The win for the Seahawks snapped their 11-game losing streak.
