Huskies Earn First CAA Win in 2-1 Victory Over Drexel

DEDHAM, Mass. – Freshman Lara Taylor scored her third goal of the season and recorded three shots on goal to lead the Northeastern field hockey team (4-8, 1-2 CAA) as they defeated Drexel (4-9, 1-1 CAA) 2-1 on Friday at Dedham Field. 
  • Taylor opened the scoring for the Huskies when she deflected a penalty corner shot from junior Lauren Rowe in the second quarter.
  • Sophomore Sarah Coyle (3) buried a rebound in the final minute of the second quarter, giving Northeastern a 2-0 lead.
  • Redshirt senior Erin Savage made six saves on Drexel's seven shots on goal.
  • Drexel scored their lone goal early in the fourth quarter.
The Northeastern field hockey team will return to Dedham Field on Sunday as they take on CAA rival Delaware at 12 p.m. The game will be streamed on FloSports.
