THOMAS – Leading by 16 at halftime and by as many as 20 early in the second half, the Northeastern men's basketball team (3-3) saw No. rv/rv Colorado State (6-0) come all the way back to level the game at 48 with less than eight minutes to play before pulling away in the championship game of the Paradise Jam on Monday night, 71-61.

Tournament MVP David Roddy was the story all weekend long for the Rams, who finished with 27 points on 10-of-13 shooting and seven rebounds in the game, while All-Tournament Team selection
Shaquille Walters had 13 points, four rebounds and three assists for Northeastern.

Jahmyl Telfort went off in the first half before finishing with a team-high 18 points on 7-of-19 shooting along with four assists and two steals to lead three Huskies in double-figures.
Nikola Djogo added 17 points and five rebounds for a Northeastern squad that shot 39% from the floor overall (22-of-56) and 7-of-25 from three.

• After both teams got off to slow starts, the Huskies caught fire with a 10-4 run sparked by a steal and a slam from
Nikola Djogo to put NU up 19-13 with 6:51 until the break.

• It was the Telfort show after that as he, Walters and
Vito Cubrilo went back-to-back-to-back from deep set off a 12-0 run and a 27-13 lead with less than five minutes until halftime.Â

• Telfort finished the half with 14 points, five rebounds and four assists as Northeastern finished the opening half on a 21-7 run for a 36-20 lead at recess.

• The Huskies extended the lead to 20 in the opening minutes of the second half before the NU shooting went cold, allowing the Rams to use a 26-4 run over a 10-minute span to take the lead and never look back.

Colorado State shot 46% in the game and 60% in the second half (15-of-25).

Northeastern will return to Boston and be back in action on Saturday afternoon when the Huskies travel to Harvard for a 5 p.m. tipoff on NESN and ESPN+.
