BOSTON – Concluding its Black History Month celebration with its #BlackoutForBlackHistory Game, the Northeastern women's basketball team will put its three-game winning streak on the line on Sunday, Feb. 28, when the Huskies close their regular season home calendar against Hofstra. Sunday's game will air live on NESN with coverage beginning at 2 p.m.

GAME DEDICATION
As part of the Northeastern women's basketball team's commitment this season (and every season) to ending racism and police brutality, the Huskies will be dedicating their home game against Hofstra to the memories of Ahmaud Arbery and Rayshard Brooks.

Northeastern is proud to make the social justice conversation a movement and not a moment. The Huskies' Black Lives Matter warmup shirts, as worn during the 2020-21 season, symbolize this goal and reflect the team's stance that no matter who you are, you are equal.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW
1. #BlackoutForBlackHistory Game:  Northeastern's #BlackoutForBlackHistory Game aims to celebrate both Black History Month as well as the Huskies' own program history of its black student-athletes, coaches and staff. During Sunday's game, Northeastern's coaching staff will be wearing special T-shirts that honor the names of black leaders and heroes who have left legacies of enacting positive change. On the floor, the Huskies will be celebrating by dressing in their all-black jerseys.

2. Maddie Three-zza:  Freshman guard Maddie Vizza has broken out for the Huskies during the team's active three-game winning streak. The first-year 3-point specialist is the two-time reigning CAA Rookie of the Week and has made 16 of her last 28 perimeter baskets (57 percent), averaging 17.0 points and 38.0 minutes across Northeastern's latest trio of victories. Short of qualifying nationally, Vizza possesses the second highest 3-point field goal percentage among CAA players (41 percent) – a mark that would rank among the program's top three single-season percentages all-time.

3. What's At Stake:  Northeastern heads into the final week of the regular season with the seventh best winning percentage in the CAA, entering Saturday having competed in the second most league games (14) behind only Delaware (16). Should all games currently appearing on the conference's composite schedule be completed, the Huskies would clinch an automatic berth in the CAA quarterfinals with victories during each of their final two games against Hofstra. NU has already guaranteed itself no lower than the No. 8 seed.
