BOSTON - Northeastern will play four-game home-and-home series with Delaware, Hofstra and Towson in the newly-created Colonial Athletic Association North Division, announced by head coach
Mike Glavine on Friday. The Huskies will open home conference play against Delaware in a four-game set (April 23-25) and open CAA play at Hofstra in a four-game set (April 9-11).
Northeastern is the preseason favorite to win the CAA North Division, selected by the league's head coaches. The Huskies return preseason All-CAA selections
Ian Fair (INF, .258),
Scott Holzwasser (INF, .293) and
Jared Dupere (OF, .359). Pitching will be another strength for Northeastern as No. 1 starter
Kyle Murphy (RHP, 2-2, 3.00 ERA) returns, as well as last season's No. 3 starter
Sebastian Keane (RHP, 3-1, 4.50 ERA) and closer
Brandon Dufault (RHP, 0.96 ERA, 4 saves).
The Huskies will open the non-conference season at preseason No. 17 Wake Forest on Friday-Sunday, Feb. 19-21, in Winston-Salem, N.C. at David F. Couch Ballpark. Friday and Sunday's games will stream on
ACC Network Extra, while Saturday's 6 p.m. contest will be televised on the ACC Network.
