Northeastern's
Aidan McDonough has been named Hockey East Army ROTC Co-Player of the Month, announced by the conference office on Tuesday.
McDonough earned seven goals and four assists in the month of February to lead the Huskies along with his shootout game winner on Sunday against Providence. The 6-foot-2 sophomore notched his first career hat trick earlier in February with three power play goals in a 6-2 win over UNH (
story). McDonough ranks first in Hockey East in power play goals (6) and is tied for third in goal scoring (10) along with teammate
Zach Solow.
This is the Milton, Mass. natives second Hockey East award this season after being named Hockey East Co-Player of the Week (
story). The Vancouver Canucks draft pick now has ten goals and nine assists putting him tied at second on the team for points with 19 along with
Jordan Harris. McDonough has tallied at least one point in his last three games played with two goals and three assists
This is the seventh Hockey East award for the Huskies this season. Junior
Jordan Harris was named Hockey East Player of the Week on December 14th and sophomore
Connor Murphy was named Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week on January 18th. Freshmen
Gunnarwolfe Fontaine was named Hockey East's Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week on December 28th while
Dylan Jackson had the same award on January 11th and was named Hockey East's Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Month for January.
