BOSTON – Riding the wave of four consecutive CAA wins, the Northeastern women's basketball team will vie for five in a row on Tuesday, March 2, when NU contests its regular season finale at Hofstra. Tipoff between the Huskies and the Pride is scheduled for 5 p.m. at the David S. Mack Sports & Exhibition Complex while live coverage will air on FloHoops.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW
1. Putting the Pieces Together:  Northeastern is stepping into its rhythm at the right time of the season, having won its last four games by the combined 17.5-point margin of victory. The Huskies have averaged 70.3 points per game during their winning streak and defensively kept their challengers to 35-percent shooting from the field. Northeastern's effective ball movement has plagued opponents as well; each of the Huskies' last five games rank among the team's top seven assist-to-made-field-goal performances of the 2020-21 season.

2. These Girls Are On Fire:  Simply put, Northeastern is the hottest 3-point shooting team in the CAA. The Huskies enter March as the conference leader in 3-point field goals per game (7.5) while ranking second in the league in 3-point field goal percentage (35.6). Northeastern has knocked down 10 or more perimeter baskets during four consecutive games for the first time during its CAA history, converting more than 50 percent of its outside looks across its winning streak (51-of-101). During the Huskies' latest 68-39 win against Hofstra (Feb. 28), five NU players combined to produce the team's 15 3-pointers, tying Northeastern's program record for the second time under the leadership of head coach Kelly Cole. Freshman guard Maddie Vizza – who collected CAA Rookie of the Week honors on March 1 for the third consecutive week – ranks among the top 20 NCAA Division I players in 3-point field goal percentage (44.4), having funneled in 22 of her last 36 looks from downtown.

3. Tourney Time:  Northeastern heads into Tuesday's regular season finale having already clinched a berth in the CAA quarterfinals. With four games remaining on the league's composite calendar, the Huskies are in possession of the fifth best winning percentage and are eligible for the No. 5, No. 6 or No. 7 seeds in the conference tournament. NU can remain ahead of Hofstra and secure at minimum the No. 6 seed with a victory against the Pride on Tuesday. If the Huskies' win were to be coupled with an Elon loss later this week, then Northeastern would head to the CAA tournament as the No. 5 seed.
