Wyatt Scotti (3-0) scattered three hits over 3.0 innings pitched to lead Northeastern (7-5) to a 5-0 win over Bryant (2-7) on Tuesday at Friedman Diamond. The Huskies' pitching staff limited the Bulldogs to four hits in the combined shutout.
Teddy Beaudet drove in a game-high two runs, while
Ryan Cervone,
Jared Dupere and
Ian Fair each drove in runs for the Huskies. Holzwasser extended his on-base streak to 30 straight games, and Viera extended his team-best hitting streak to seven and has reached base in all 12 games he has played at Northeastern. Costello is rocking a 16-game on-base streak.
Northeastern broke the scoreless tie in the second inning as Beaudet singled with two outs to give the Huskies a 2-0 lead after two innings. NU scored a run in the third, fifth and sixth innings on a sacrifice fly to close out scoring in the game.
Eric Yost threw 2.0 strong innings, striking out three, while
Matt Downing,
Thomas Balboni and
Brian Rodriguez retired the final nine batters of the game.
The Huskies will travel to Villanova for a three-game series at Villanova Ballpark at Plymouth this Friday-Sunday. First pitch on Friday will be at 2 p.m. and streamed on
