  • Northeastern is ranked No. 1 in both polls
  • After being outshot 13-4 in the first period, the Huskies dominated Minnesota Duluth, outshooting the Bulldogs 43-15 over the final two periods and OT
  • NU held a 15-5 shot advantage in the third period, scoring a pair of goals to tie the game
  • Skylar Fontaine scored the game-winning goal in OT to send Northeastern to its first-ever National Championship Game
  • The Huskies trailed by two goals for the first time all season
  • The Red and Black are 2-0-1 in OT games this season
    • Northeastern is 1-1 all-time in OT games in the NCAA tournament

NU-MD SERIES NOTES
  • Today was the first-ever win for the Huskies over the Bulldogs
  • This is just the third meeting between the two programs and first in NCAA tournament

Senior Aerin Frankel
  • Made 26 saves in the game, including a big stop in the final seconds of regulation to send the game to OT

  • Top-3 Finalist for Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award for the first time in her career

Sophomore Katy Knoll
  • Recorded her first-ever goal in the NCAA tournament
  • Tied the game in the third period with a goal at the 5:30 minute mark
  • Posted a goal and an assist in the NCAA tournament
  • Has 12 goals on the season and 22 points  
Junior Maureen Murphy
  • Scored the game's first goal for the Huskies on the power play
  • It was her 2nd power-play goal of the season
  • Has a goal and an assist in the NCAA tournament
  • Pushed her season total to 7 goals and 18 points in 15 games played
