Jared Dupere homered for the sixth time this season and
Scott Holzwasser went 2-for-4 with a double to lead Northeastern (13-6, 2-0 CAA) over Hofstra (9-8, 0-2 CAA), 3-2, in game one of a scheduled doubleheader on Saturday at University Field. RHP
Brandon Dufault picked up his second save of the season, retiring the side in the ninth, and Holzwasser extended his on-base streak to 37 games.
Murphy fanned seven consecutive batters from the first to third innings, and improved to 2-0 this season. He has fanned 22Â over his last two full starts for the Huskies.
Spenser Smith doubled in the sixth inning and scored on a balk to join Dupere and Holzwasser with extra base hits.
