Kyle Peterson drove in a game-high three runs,
Jared Dupere homered for the second straight game, and
Scott Holzwasser went 3-for-5 with a double and RBI to lead Northeastern (14-6, 3-0 CAA) to a 13-5 win over Hofstra (9-9, 0-3 CAA) in game two of a doubleheader on Saturday at University Field. The Huskies took the opener 3-2 behind a dominant pitching performance by right-hander
Kyle Murphy (2-0), striking out a career-high 12.
The Huskies connected on a single-game best four home runs on the day. Joining Dupere with home runs were
Ben Malgeri,
Spenser Smith and
JP Olson. RHP
Sebastian Keane (2-1) worked 6.0 strong innings, striking out eight, allowing six hits, two runs and walked just one. Holzwasser extended his on-base streak to 38 games.

Jeff Costello and Smith each tallied two hits for the Huskies. Northeastern outhit the Pride, 15-9, and went 6-for-7 (.857) with runners on third with less than two outs.
Northeastern jumped out on top with four runs in the second inning, highlighted by a two-run home run by Olson, his first collegiate homer, and a long ball by Dupere, his fourth in five games and seventh this season. The Huskies would put the game away with three runs in the seventh and eighth innings, courtesy of a two-RBI triple by Peterson and RBI doubles by Costello and Dupere.
