Huskies Close Out Competition at UMass and Towson

Ā  UMASS RESULTS | TOWSON INVITATIONAL RESULTS

AMHERST, Mass. -- Alexander KorczynskiĀ posted two first-place finishes in the men's 800 meters (1:54.70) and in the men's 1500 meters with a personal-best time of 3:50.33Ā to lead the Northeastern men and women's track and field teams at the UMass meet on Saturday.

Patrick Cullen finished first in the men's 10000 meters with a personal-best time of 31:03, while Tessa McClain finished first in the women's 800-meter run with a personal-best time of 2:13.31

In the women's 1500 meters, Abigail Hassman and Juliet Bussell notched second and third place finishes with times of 4:38.96 and 4:40.74, respectively. Max Spencer also posted a second-place finish in the men's 1500 meters with a time of 3:51.

Savion Thompson earned a personal-best in the men's 100-meter hurdles (14.90), while Noah Sweeney recordedĀ a first-place finish in the men's 100-meter dash (10.74).

Northeastern also took home first place in both the men and women's 4x400 relay as Lucinda Shotts, Azza Borovicka-Swanson, Sarah Petersen and McClain clocked a time of 4:10.08 to lead on the women's side, while Astor Meredith-Goujon, Nicholas Young, Pierre Sylvain, and Spencer led the men with a time of 3:22.79.

In the field events, Leeyan Redwood led the Huskies in the women's shot put as she finished in first place with a mark of 47 feet, 3.3 inches. Zachary Ruiz also finished first in the men's discus throw with a distance of 145 feet, 7 inches.

Hope Belvit earned a personal-best in the women's hammer throw with a distance of 155 feet, 2.6 inches, whileĀ Kaitlyn Cavallaro finished second in the women's javelin throw with a mark of 111 feet, 9.7 inches.Ā Shraeya Srinivasan finished third in the women's triple jump with a distance of 36 feet, 7 inches and Kennedee Cox also posted a third-place finish in the women's long jump (17 feet, 7 inches).

Back at the Towson Invitational, Dominique Biron led Northeastern in the women's high jump with a mark of 5 feet, 5 inches to finish in first place. Biron also posted a personal-best in the women's 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.67.Ā Mayowa Osunsami earned personal-bests in the men's 100 and 200-meter dash with times of 10.75 and 21.84, respectively. Phillips Magre earned a first-place finish in the men's high jump while almost tying his previous personal-best with a distance of 6 feet, 6.74 inches.Ā 

The Huskies will continue action next weekend at the UConn Invitational and the Miami Alumni Invitational beginning on Saturday, April 9.Ā
