Max Viera drove in a run to lead Northeastern (21-6, 9-0 CAA) to its 11th straight win, defeating Towson (15-27, 5-5 CAA), 2-1, in game one of this scheduled Colonial Athletic Association doubleheader on Saturday at Friedman Diamond.
Jared Dupere added a double and scored a run and Viera drove in the game-winning run with a double in the sixth inning.

Ian Fair each added hits to lead NU offensively. Towson's starter Nick Janowicz tossed 6.0 strong innings, scattering four hits, two runs, one earned run and fanned four.
The Huskies broke the scoreless tie in the second inning as Fair singled in the hole between short and third, but
Danny Crossen never stopped running from second base and the Towson first baseman overthrew the catcher to give Northeastern a 1-0 lead. Viera then doubled down the left-field line in the sixth inning to score Dupere and give the Huskies a 2-0 lead.
The Tigers rallied in the ninth inning with three straight hits and scored their first run of the game to cut the deficity to one, 2-1. With runners at first and second and one out, Yost induced a shallow fly ball to right field and then a fly out to left field to end the inning and preserve the win.
Game two of this CAA doubleheader will begin at 2:05 p.m. and will be televised on NESN +.
