Max Viera went 3-for-5 with a double and drove in a run, while
Ian Fair and
Jared Dupere each drove in two runs to lead Northeastern (36-11) in an 8-6 defeat to No. 19 Nebraska (32-12) on Friday in the NCAA Fayetteville Regional at Baum-Walker Stadium. The Huskies jumped out front of the Huskers, 4-0, through three innings, but Nebraska scored eight unanswered runs and held off a late charge by Northeastern.

Sebastian Keane made the start for the Huskies, tossing 4.0 innings, scattering four hits, three runs and struck out four. He retired the first seven batters of the game and 9-of-11, before giving up a three-run home run in the fourth inning to Nebraska's Cam Chick.
Danny Crossen homered for the first time this season to start the scoring in the second inning, and Dupere drove in two runs in a three-run third inning as the Huskies led 4-0. Chick delivered a three-run homer for Nebraska in the fourth inning and Big Ten Player of the Year Spencer Schwellenbach tied the game with a sacrifice fly to right field.
Nebraska continued to rally with three runs in the sixth inning and tacked on another in the seventh. The Huskies responded in the top of the eighth inning after loading the bases, to force the Huskers to turn to their closer Schwellenbach. After a strike out, Fair delivered a single to left field to plate two runs and bring the Huskies within two, 8-6. The Huskies would put runners on first and second with two outs in the ninth, but were unable to push a run across.
Northeastern will take on NJIT in an elimination game on Saturday at 3 p.m. ET. The game will be streamed on ESPN3 and will air on WRBB 104.9 FM.
