BOSTON - Northeastern's
Cam Schlittler was named to the Freshman All-American Second Team by Baseball America. Schlittler led the Huskies to their first-ever Colonial Athletic Association tournament championship as Northeastern made its second NCAA Regional appearance in the last three NCAA tournaments.
Schlittler, a native of East Walpole, Mass., led the CAA and ranked ninth in the country with a 1.88 earned run average. He won a CAA-best eight games on the mound, finishing 8-1 and was named CAA Co-Rookie of the Year, All-CAA first team, CAA All-Rookie Team and earned a spot on the CAA All-Tournament Team during one of the most impressive freshman seasons in school and league history. Schlittler struck out 85 batters in 76.2 innings pitched, while limiting batters to a .209 average. He was named a
Collegiate Baseball Freshmen All-American (
