Kayla Martin made 13 digs to lead Northeastern (1-0, 0-0 CAA) women's volleyball to a 3-0 (25-14, 26-24, 25-20) sweep over the Hartford Hawks (0-1, 0-0 America East) in the first match of the 2021 season at the Boston College Tournament Friday night.
- Junior middle blocker Nailah Jenkins finished with eight kills for the Huskies and had a .467 attack percentage on the night.
- Gonzalez also contributed on the defensive end, making 10 digs and passing for a .920 serve-receive percentage.
- As a team, the Huskies outhit the Hawks 39 to 26 in kills and in attack percentage (.183 to .034)
- Freshman outside hitter Sahitya Krishnamurthy had two aces and a serve percentage of .920.
- The Huskies came back to win in both the second and third sets
- Down 15-8 in the third set, NU rattled off eight straight points to take the lead and eventually win the match, sweeping the Hawks
The Huskies will be back in action Saturday morning as the Boston College Tournament continues at 11 a.m. against the Sacred Heart Pioneers and later in the day, Northeastern will play the Boston College Eagles at 7 p.m. on
